Sam Hotchkiss

About me: Since graduating from Bates College in Maine, I have worked in management and strategy consulting, first in the Boston area, and now in my current position in New York City. I love anything active, even more so if it involves getting outside. While at Bates, I majored in Economics and Political Science and was captain of the rowing team. A competitor at heart, I still enter the occasional triathlong and enjoy skiing and cycling.

What drew me to the Walk: During my time as a competitive athlete, I gained a keen interest in how nutrition and exercise can positively affect a person’s well-being and performance. But it was witnessing the effects of diabetes in a close family friend that solidified my wish to be involved in the Walk. I’m excited for this chance to raise awareness of diabetes and encourage a healthy lifestyle at the same time.
